ICANN's Reveal Day publication shows 1,615 active applications from 481 applicants in the 2026 New gTLD Round. The list makes proposed strings and competing applications visible for the first time in this round.
One additional application, .wdo from the World Data Organization, remains under administrative review and is not included in the active total. The published regional breakdown counts applicants, not applications: North America has the most (198), followed by Asia-Pacific (156) and Europe (111).
Applicants may now switch to eligible replacement strings during the 8–21 October replacement period. The published applications are requests to operate new top-level domains, not approvals; ICANN's current statistics show no applications contracted or delegated.
